All Of Us Are Dead season 2 has just been confirmed to be in production, with the cast sharing a special message at Netflix’s Geeked Week.
Korean dramas have experienced an incredible surge in global popularity over the past few years, especially on Netflix.
In particular, Korean content has achieved huge success with their zombies, with ‘Train to Busan’ and ‘Kingdom’ arguably being amongst the very best zombie-content you can possibly sink your teeth into.
Earlier this year, the world was gripped by the latest zombie series to come out of South Korea; All Of Us Are Dead, which has just received some exciting news at Netflix’s Geeked Week Day One event.

All Of Us Are Dead season 2 finally confirmed to be in production
Today, June 6th, Netflix kicked off their Geeked Week reveal extravaganza with a focus on their hit original series, including the Korean zombie show All Of Us Are Dead.
A short video message from the cast was shared, in which season 2 was confirmed to be in production for the streaming giant.
“Hi everyone, long time no see. Thank you to all our fans who loved All Of Us Are Dead season 1.” “How have you all been? We’re doing well. And did you hear the good news?” “All Of Us Are Dead will be returning for season 2! We hope you’re all excited for it” “What sort of events will take place in ALL Of Us Are Dead season 2…Oh, I have to go – my friends are waiting for me. See You” – All Of Us Are Dead cast, via Netflix Geeked Week Livestream.
Sadly, a release window for season 2 was not shared as part of the reveal event; however, with some of the cast seemingly reporting from a production set, it’s a safe assumption that plans on the second epic season are already being put into place.
There are some high expectations to ‘meat’ for season 2
Directed by Lee Jae-kyoo and Kim Nam-su, this K-drama had some serious expectations to meet as it adapted the popular Naver Webtoon series “Now at Our School” by Joo Dong-geun, which was serialised between 2009 and 2011.
All of Us Are Dead was one of Netflix’s first Korean series of 2022 and the coming-of-age high school zombie apocalypse certainly did not disappoint fans.
Thankfully, fans around the world couldn’t get enough of All of Us Are Dead, with What’s On Netflix reporting that over 362 million hours of the zombie series was consumed within the first 30 days of its launch – rising to over 659 million by April 10th.
As of June 6th, the hit Korean drama is scoring an impressive 8.4/10 on MyDramaList, 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, 7.5/10 on IMDB and 90% on AsianWiki.
Interestingly, the second season was hinted at soon after the series’ global popularity began to be understood, with the director noting the following to HypeBeast KR IN February 2022:
“The story itself was set with season 2 in mind, so if season 2 comes out, it might be a little more interesting and expanded story. If Season 1 was a survival period for humans, there is a sense of humor, but Season 2 feels like it will be a survival period for zombies.” – Lee Jae-kyoo, via HypeBeast KR.
In a follow-up interview with Spotv News, he added how “It will be more like a survival period” and “Nothing has been confirmed, but if this story goes on to the second or third series in the future, it seems like it could have an extended value.”
