Season 4 of The Rookie has seen plenty of characters come and go. From the death of Jackson West and the arrival of Simone Clark to the multitude of one-off guest stars, there are always new faces arriving in each episode.
The same can certainly be said for the upcoming finale as Nathon Fillion’s John Nolan encounters some new and familiar characters as he’s forced to spend a week in the middle of nowhere.

Episode 22 of The Rookie season 4 will air on ABC at 10/9c on Sunday, May 15th, 2022.
Following last time’s Mother’s Day special, the upcoming season finale is titled Day In The Hole and sees Nathan Fillion’s John Nolan taken very much out of his comfort zone as he is forced to spend a week in solitary confinement in a quiet border town with a young local officer who is in need of training.
Elsewhere, Bradford and Chen learn that first impressions can be deceiving as the pair go undercover in a possible drug trafficking case.

Meet episode 22’s guest stars
Alan Tudyk as Ellroy Basso
We begin our cast rundown with the return of a huge star, Alan Tudyk, who reprises the role of Ellroy Basso, after appearing as the character in the 2019 episode Clean Cut.
The 51-year-old actor grew in fame after appearing in the cult sci-fi series Firefly and after playing Steve the Pirate in the 2004 comedy Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
Since then, Tudyk has become a regular on our screens, appearing in the likes of Resident Alien, Doom Patrol, The Tick, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and in a host of minor roles in the Disney films Encanto, Moana, Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Frozen and its 2019 sequel.
Sara Rue as Nell Forester
Sara Rue will be a familiar face to Rookie fans as she appeared as the character Nell Forester back in seasons 1 and 2 before leaving with Ellroy in the episode Clean Cut.
Since departing The Rookie in 2019, Sara has appeared in a host of projects including B Positive and American Housewife while other appearances fans will be familiar with have come in A Series of Unfortunate Events, Bones, Impastor and Less Than Perfect.
Peter Davidson as Pete Nolan
Another big returnee in episode 22 is Peter Davidson who takes on the role of John’s half-brother Pete.
The 28-year-old actor is best known for his appearances on Saturday Night Live while other roles have come in The Freak Brothers, The King of Staten Island, The Angry Birds Movie 2, The Dirt and he even made a cameo appearance alongside Nathan Fillion in 2021’s The Suicide Squad.

And finally, we come to a new face in the cast, Stephanie Arcila whose character name has not been revealed ahead of the episode.
The Miami-born actress has almost 20 roles to her name with notable appearances coming in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, the Telemundo telenovela Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio, Don’t Breathe 2 as well as minor roles in NCIS and Black-ish.
