90 Day Fiancé’s Gabe Reveals Before Transition Photos To Isabel’s Dad

Gabriel Paboga, star of 90 Day Fiancé: Another Way, has agreed to show Isabel Posada’s father pictures of himself before undergoing FTM surgery after confessing that he is a transgender male. Gabe, who is 32 years old and from Florida, found love while traveling in Colombia where he runs a business selling men’s and women’s underwear. Isabel, who is 34 years old and a mother-of-two, considers Gabe the “perfect” man for her and they decided to date each other. As they spent more time together, the couple knew they were ready to get married. Gabe moved to Medellín and before proposing, he wanted to clarify his past with Isabel’s conservative parents.

In a preview of episode 10 posted by EverybodyGabe felt the need to discuss his transition with Isabel’s father who had never looked at Gabe’s social media. While showing him pictures of himself as a woman, Gabe admitted that he didn’t like anything about his life when he was living as someone else. Luckily for Gabe, Isabel’s father accepted his truth with an open mind and heart which allowed Gabriel to breathe a sigh of relief.

Gabe avoids looking at his old photos because he “hates” what he looks like, which makes him “despise” himself. He added, “I don’t like my body, my face, or anything about myself.”

Gabe shared pre-transgender photos with Isabel’s dad in an attempt to sort things out. It was a vulnerable moment for the reality star, and even Isabel’s dad could see how difficult it was for Gabe to accept himself. Gabe told the man that every day he lived like a woman, he “wanted to die.” When you wish you were someone else every day, it’s really sad,” Gabe confessed in front of the camera.

Being born a woman made him feel like he had body parts that didn’t belong there. He wanted to feel normal and when he was little, every night he went to bed wishing he would wake up in a different body. In order to achieve this, Gabe underwent one painful surgery after another just to get the body he wanted to live in. Five years ago, Gabe underwent phalloplasty whereby tissue from his thigh was taken to create a penis but unfortunately his right thigh didn’t have enough nerves so a week later, the nerve from his left thigh was reused in a second surgery. Gabe stayed in the hospital for three weeks and as he healed, his urethra closed and had to undergo a third surgery within three months.

However, despite going through all these surgeries, Gabe has yet to get top surgery; possibly due to the painful experience from previous surgeries which may have prevented him from doing so. At 21 years old, Gabe decided to transition from female to male after previously living as a woman and coming out as lesbian at 16 years old – deep down knowing that he identified as male who wanted to date women. With Isabel accepting him for who he is now, it is now up her father’s approval which could inspire many others for decades beyond their story on 90 Day Fiancé: Another Way.
